Why do some beekeepers avoid requeening?
One reason for leaving replacement to the bees is confidence in a colony’s own queen-rearing and local adaptation. That can be a valid management choice, not simply a distinction between hobby and commercial beekeeping. The useful question is whether the colony’s current queen and traits meet the beekeeper’s aims.
