What the maker says about each

Native is the original formula: plant-based, with essential-oil actives, meant for routine inspections. The maker estimates around 250 visits per bottle on docile colonies, which makes it the cheaper one per visit.

Nova is meant for more reactive colonies and heavier handling. Against the previous formula the maker states +56% immediate effect and +25% lasting effect, with an initial reaction around 5 seconds and about 90 seconds of hold.

Those figures are worth taking for what they are: the maker's own. In the apiary they depend on the colony's temper, the state of the flow and the day you get.

02 · HOW TO CHOOSE

Start with the cheaper one and keep the other in reserve

The practical rule is simple: start with Native, which covers routine work and costs less per visit, and keep Nova for the moments when the colony is on the defensive — harvest, splits, windy days.

What we will not do is promise you a table by race: how a colony answers vapour does depend on its genetics, but also on the season and on how you open it. Try, and keep what works for you.

03 · COMPATIBILITY AND USE

Apisolis only, and no mixing

It is for exclusive use with the Apisolis electric smoker and its 120 ml tank. It is not for other vaporisers and not for a fuel-burning smoker.

Do not mix the two formulas in the tank: if you switch, empty it and clean it first. Keep the bottle somewhere cool, dry and out of direct light.

The full composition

It is the question that comes up most, and it deserves a straight answer: there is no published qualitative composition. What the maker states about Native is its plant origin, its essential-oil actives and its ECOCERT certification and FDA conformity.
