Honey gates, hose and fitting

This is the category nobody looks at until something drips. And in a workshop, what drips is hours of cleaning and kilos of honey.

Two things to get right

The diameter. Taps come by size — Ø40 mm, 33/42, 40/49 in 1" and 1½" — and it has to match the outlet of your settling tank or vessel. Measure before ordering: one adapter more is one more joint to leak from.

The type of closure. The guillotine tap cuts cleanly and leaves no thread hanging, which is what you want when filling. The ball valve handles dense honey better and does not jam with crystals. The anti-drip is the detail that separates a clean jar from a sticky-necked one.

All food-grade and dismountable

Any part touching honey has to be food-grade stainless and able to come apart for cleaning. Quick couplings and Clamp fittings exist precisely for that: they open without tools and wash. A valve that cannot be opened accumulates old honey and ends up fermenting inside your line.
