Details of 90° Pipe Elbow with Tap for FillOmat® Honey Filling machine

90° elbow with a top tap for the FillOmat® bottling machine: the part that solves priming, which is the awkward moment of any doser.

The tap is not for filling jars: it is for filling the machine. A volumetric pump does not dose until its head is full of honey, because air cannot be dosed. This elbow opens a second inlet on top: you open the tap, the honey drops straight into the head, the gears fill and the machine is primed in seconds.

01 · PRIMING IS THE BOTTLENECK

The pump will not start against air

Without this part, priming means waiting for the honey to climb the suction hose on its own, and with dense or cold honey that takes a while every time you start a batch, change drum or empty the circuit. With the tap on top the filling is by gravity and direct.

02 · NOT THE PLAIN ELBOW

This is the 31540-2; the transverse one is the 31541

These are the two parts of the FillOmat® catalogue that get mixed up most. This is the 90° one with the priming tap; the 31541 is the plain transverse elbow, with no tap, and only changes the direction of the line. Both are food-safe stainless steel and work on the same 38 mm circuit.
