Candle Moulds Decorative
Forty-two silicone moulds for decorative candles: Christmas star, hanging snowflake, floating rose, decorated eggs and relief figures. From €11.95 to €72.20.
Candle Moulds Decorative
Moulds for decorative candles in beeswax: made for figures with crisp relief and a warm finish. Beeswax melts at around 62-65 °C and burns slowly, with its natural colour and scent.
How to use them
• Melt the wax in a bain-marie and avoid overheating it. To pour, work at 68-72 °C depending on how thick the mould is.
• Warm the mould slightly if the room is cold. It reduces cracks and shrinkage.
• Coat the inside with a thin film of release or vegetable oil. It preserves the detail and makes release easier.
• Centre and hold the wick with a guide rod or a base support. On thick candles, use a wider wick for a stable flame.
• Let it cool away from draughts. If the top sinks, top up with a second warm pour.
• With silicone moulds, only release once it is completely cold, so the relief does not deform.
Finish and personalisation
• A gentle pass of hot air closes pores and brings up the shine.
• You can colour it with wax pigments. Add a small amount first and test on a sample.
• If you scent it, do not exceed roughly 1-2 % or you will drown the wick. Mix well and test the burn.
Looking after the mould
• Clean with warm water and neutral soap where possible, and dry without rubbing the relief.
• Store the moulds away from dust and sunlight. Silicone lasts longer stored without creases.
With good temperature control, the right wick and quality moulds, you will get beeswax candles with sharp detail, even colour and a steady burn.
The full range is in candle moulds, and wicks, bands and wax in candle-making supplies.
