Details of Candle mould - Candle with bee

Silicone rubber mould for making an 18 cm beekeeping pillar candle with bees in relief.

Each finished candle measures approximately Ø 4 × 18 cm and requires around 110 g of wax.

01 · PREPARATION

Dry mould, centred wick and one continuous pour

Position and centre the wick before pouring. The manufacturer recommends working with liquid beeswax at 72–75 °C, filling slowly in one continuous pour and allowing it to cool at room temperature. Wait until the candle has hardened completely before demoulding so that the relief retains its detail.

02 · SAFETY AND CARE

Hot wax requires a stable workstation

Melt and pour the wax in a suitable container on a firm, protected surface. Avoid overheating it and keep water, children and ignition sources away from the work area. After use, clean the inside with warm water, mild detergent and a soft brush; dry it completely and store it without deforming it.

03 · BEFORE YOU BUY

No. 4 is the correct reference, but the burn test decides

For beeswax, Holtermann specifies wick no. 4 on its own scale. Wick numbering is not universal, and performance changes with wax composition and braid type. Before making a batch, burn-test one candle: an oversized wick produces a large flame and soot, while an undersized one leaves a narrow tunnel or goes out.
