The "Egg with Lace – Large" silicone mould is a refined option for crafting elegant beeswax candles. Featuring an egg shape with intricate lace-like detailing, this mould is perfect for Easter, springtime décor, or as a decorative piece with timeless charm.
Lace egg mould, large version: 10.5 cm tall with fine relief across the whole surface.
All the value is in the lace. Any mould will make a plain egg. What you are buying here is the relief that imitates lace, and that detail does not depend on the mould: it depends on how you pour.
01 · THE LACE DICTATES THE POUR
Beeswax melts between 62 and 65 °C and pours comfortably at 70-75 °C. Below that it arrives thick and the lace comes out rounded and undefined; above 85 the wax darkens and loses the clean colour that makes a piece like this work.
Pour in a thin stream against the wall, not into the centre, so the air escapes instead of getting trapped between the reliefs. A light coat of silicone spray before filling saves trouble at release.
02 · 70-75 °C AND PATIENCE
With a 10.5 cm mould the piece takes its time to cool through, and there is no shortcut: unmoulding warm deforms the egg and tears off the fine parts of the lace. The mould stays untouched until the wax is cold inside, not just on the outside.
This is a single-piece mould, for the kind of candle sold as an object rather than by the dozen. The silicone is flexible and smooth on the inside, so it cleans up well and stands many batches.
03 · BEFORE YOU BUY
An ornamental piece with fine relief.
| ✓ A GOOD FIT | Beeswax poured at 70-75 °C, in a mould 10.5 cm tall and Ø 7. |
| ⚠ 3×16 WICK AND BANDS SEPARATE | LYSON gives about 275 g of wax per egg, just over three per kilo, and a 3×16 wick. The mould has a slit: close it with rubber bands before pouring. |
| ✕ NO RUSHING | With fine relief and a 10.5 cm mould, unmoulding warm ruins the lace. For a series, use several moulds. |
