🕯️ Length alone does not determine burn performance

A 15 cm wick can be used for candles of that height or shorter, but its performance depends primarily on the diameter of the candle, the type of wax, the shape of the mould, the pigments and the fragrances. It should not be assumed to be compatible with any beeswax candle simply because it meets the height requirement.

🔥 Carry out a burn test before producing the batch

Produce a complete unit using the same wax, mould and formulation that you will use later. A weak flame, self-extinguishing behaviour or a narrow tunnel may indicate an insufficient wick; an excessive flame, soot, overheating or marked charring may indicate a wick that is too large, off-centre or too long. Adjust one variable at a time and record the result.

1. Centre the washer on the base and secure it using the appropriate system for your mould.
2. Hold the wick vertically with a slight tension; if it is tilted, the wax pool will form unevenly.
3. Pour the wax without moving the base and allow it to cool completely before removing from the mould or trimming.
4. Test the candle on a stable, heat-resistant surface, away from draughts and flammable materials, and never leave it burning unattended.
