Flexible silicone mould with a honeycomb texture: it gives a candle 7.5 cm tall and about 4.3 across, with the relief sharply defined.
The grams the supplier gives are a starting point. Weigh the first candle and you will have your own figure: that is what decides how many come out of each kilo.
01 · WHAT COMES OUT
About nine candles per kilo
The supplier's reference is around 110 g a piece: 9 candles per kilo of wax. That is the sum that matters when you are producing to sell. Weigh the first candle you turn out and adjust the figure, because the honeycomb relief leaves hollows.
02 · THE WICK
3×11 as a starting point
The maker recommends a 3×11 wick, and it is worth taking that as a starting point: wicks are settled by testing.
The underlying rule is firm: beeswax melts higher than paraffin and asks for more wick at the same diameter. Too short and the flame digs a well and drowns; too long and it smokes.
03 · THE SILICONE
It releases on its own and takes the batches
Flexible silicone: the relief comes out defined batch after batch and the piece lifts out without forcing. Wash it with hot water and mild soap, and never use a knife to release — one cut shows up on every candle afterwards. The mould does come with a factory slit for unmoulding: before pouring, close it with rubber bands so the wax does not escape through the join.
04 · BEFORE YOU BUY
It is the mould: the wax, the wick and the melter come separately.
