Tangential, radial and self-turning baskets

A four-frame BASIC tangential extractor is a straightforward starting point: frames must be turned to empty both sides. A 42-frame radial extractor holds frames around the shaft and works both faces during rotation. In a CLASSIC self-turning model, the baskets change orientation inside the drum.

Read capacity alongside the frame format. “8/16” may mean eight full-depth or sixteen shallow frames, not sixteen frames of any size. If you use Layens, Langstroth or Dadant, compare basket dimensions with your frames before considering the machine’s external diameter. For example, the six-position BASIC self-turner is offered for six Dadant brood frames or twelve shallow frames; the six-position CLASSIC models here also accept Langstroth.

Automate the stages around the extractor too

Higher extraction throughput also produces more cappings. LYSON uncapping machines open the cells; presses and centrifuges recover honey remaining in the wax. These are separate operations: faster uncapping needs cappings collection and a honey outlet that can keep up.

In the finishing area, a creaming machine works on texture, while a dehumidifier reduces moisture. A honey tank, even with heating, holds and conditions honey but does not perform either operation by itself. Match the machine to the actual problem with the batch.

Check controls and power before upgrading

To motorise or repair an existing extractor, identify the machine, motor and control unit. LYSON offers parts with different voltages and controllers; sharing the brand or BASIC range does not make every component interchangeable. For a new honey house, also allow for loading, opening lids and removing frames. Useful capacity depends on the complete working cycle.
