FS15 MODEL | 11 × 10 CM CAST |
≈150 G WAX | UNCUT ONE PIECE |
FS15 silicone mould for making a Holy Family relief approximately 11 cm high by 10 cm wide, with an indicative wax requirement of 150 g.
This is a one-piece, uncut relief mould: it does not make the smaller three-dimensional Holy Family figurine also listed by LTA.
01 · IDENTIFY THE FORMAT
The mould itself is 13 cm high; the finished cast is about 11 × 10 cm. The manufacturer labels the second cast measurement as diameter, although on this scene it represents the maximum width. The 150 g figure is an estimate for wax and can change with density, fill level and shrinkage. The product supplied is the mould; the yellow item in the photographs demonstrates the result and is not part of the contents.
02 · PREPARE AND POUR
Work with the mould dry, clean, level and properly supported. For a candle intended to burn, position a centred wick before pouring, but do not rely on any inherited wick size: the manufacturer specifies no wick for FS15. Select it for the wax and final geometry, then validate it with a burn test. Melt without direct flame and follow the material supplier's pouring guidance; the official page mentions both 50 and 60 °C in different sections, so neither is a universal setting. Pour slowly to reach the relief details and do not move the mould while the cast sets.
03 · COOL AND RELEASE
Wait until the whole cast is cold and firm. Peel the silicone away gradually from the edges and release the deeper details first; never pull on the wick or insert knives that can score or tear the mould. The manufacturer allows silicone spray inside to aid release: use it only when it is compatible with the chosen casting material and the intended end use. Remove residues after they have cooled and store the mould without folds or weight on top.
04 · BEFORE YOU BUY
The manufacturer lists beeswax, soy and palm wax, paraffin, ceramic plaster, creative concrete, epoxy resin and soap base. Each requires its own safety data, ventilation, protection, temperature or mixing ratio and cure time. Keep separate moulds where residues or cross-contamination matter. Before selling or gifting a candle that will be lit, test one unit for stability, flame height, melt pool and behaviour through the full burn; FS15 has no wick specification.
