Detalles de Wax melter with 100 L stainless steel settler base + steam generator

Melting beeswax cleanly and efficiently is an essential part of beekeeping, especially when it's time to renew old combs or recover wax from cappings. This wax melter, mounted on a 100 L stainless steel settler, is a compact and practical solution for small to medium-sized beekeeping operations that want to process their own wax easily and safely.

Important: The steam generator is not included and must be purchased separately. You can add it directly to your cart or view more details here.

What need does it solve?

Throughout the season, frames accumulate that are darkened, old or simply no longer suitable for reuse. Leaving them aside risks wax moth infestations, mould or disease. With this unit, you can melt the wax using steam, separate it from solid residues, and store it in block form for reuse or sale.

How does it work?

This system uses water steam, the gentlest and safest way to melt beeswax:

• Fill the 4 L water tank of the electric boiler (sold separately), which brings the water to a boil in about 10 minutes.
• Steam is conducted through a 3.5 m hose into the stainless steel drum.
• Inside, frames or wax residues are placed on a perforated basket that lets the melted wax drip to the bottom while retaining debris like cocoons, brood remnants or wood.
• The melted wax exits through a lateral outlet, ready for decanting, moulding or filtering.

How much wax can it handle?

Although the drum holds 100 L, what's most relevant is the number of frames you can load per batch:

15 Langstroth frames
8 Dadant Blatt frames
7 Layens frames

Key advantages

Made of food-grade stainless steel, resistant to natural hive product acidity and easy to clean.
Lockable lid with clamps to prevent steam loss.
Collection tray and bottom outlet make wax extraction simple.
No open flame needed, reducing fire risk and odours.
Perfect for drained cappings wax, resulting in lighter, purer wax.
Compatible with 2000 W electric steam generator (not included).

A practical tip

If you need to sterilize the wax to eliminate American foulbrood spores, keep in mind that atmospheric steam does not reach the 120 °C required. In that case, use a wax sterilizer that heats with resistors and reaches pressurized temperatures. This melter is excellent for melting and filtering wax, but it does not sterilize it.
