01 · THE SEVEN LITRES

What you gain and what it costs

Run time is up to 120 minutes of continuous work, and that is what separates this model from the usual 5-litre one: on a long melt you do not have to stop, refill and wait all over again.

The price of that autonomy is paid at the start: filling and heating seven litres takes between 25 and 45 minutes, depending on how full the tank is. It is not a fault, it is arithmetic: more water is more heat to put in before the first cloud comes out.

02 · WHAT IT IS USED FOR

Wax, frames and equipment

Steam is the clean way to melt old frames and cappings — no flame, no fumes and no overheated wax — and also to deep-clean boxes and supers.

Keep the usual limit in mind: steam at atmospheric pressure cleans and melts, but does not sterilise. For equipment suspected of foulbrood that is another matter, and the official veterinary service decides it.

03 · THE MACHINE

Tank in view and safety

The transparent tank shows the level at a glance, which is exactly what stops it running dry mid-job. The heating element sits in the base, to use the last inch of water.

It has overheating protection and an automatic overpressure valve. The 2 m hose is thermally insulated and the cable is 2.5 m: between them you have room to work without pushing the unit up against the melter.

04 · SPARE PARTS

The 7 L element is not the 5 L one

This is the warning that saves a returned order: the heating elements of this model are not compatible with those of the 5-litre generator. Check the reference before ordering a spare.

At 2 kg with an integrated carrying handle, it moves between workshop and apiary without ceremony — it weighs less than the bucket you are about to fill.
