Details of Replacement Heating Element for Steam Generator

Thermal paste is not advice: without it there is air between the element and the body, and air insulates. The element cooks itself.

Stainless steel replacement heating element, 2,200 W, for the steam generators of wax melters and boilers. 120 × 95 mm, CE marked.

01 · THERMAL PASTE IS NOT OPTIONAL

Why these parts burn out

This element heats by contact, clamped against the body of the generator. Between two metal surfaces, however well machined, there are microscopic voids full of air — and air is a poor conductor.

Thermal paste fills those voids. Without it, the heat does not reach the water as fast as it is produced, the element climbs in temperature on its own and destroys itself. That is what separates a spare that lasts years from one that lasts a season.

02 · NINE AND A HALF AMPS

Before you plug in

2,200 W at 230 V is 9.6 amps. Sharing a circuit with the rest of the honey house, it is a candidate for tripping the breaker.

Stainless steel is what belongs to a part that lives between damp and high temperature.

Your generator's mounting

It suits most steam generators on wax melters and boilers, but the mounting is not universal: measure the one you took out and compare it with the 120 × 95 mm.
