Special thermometer for wax attachable to the mini melter (ref HOLT-13810). It can be easily moved and regulated, therefore it can be adjusted to the filling level of the liquid wax.

A thermostat measures where its probe is; the wax is somewhere else. Between one point and the other there can be ten or fifteen degrees, and that decides whether the wax comes out pale or dark.
01 · WHY THE THERMOSTAT IS NOT ENOUGH
A thermostat regulates from its own probe, sitting against the element or the jacket. The wax in the middle runs behind, and the edge runs ahead.
With a window as narrow as wax's, that difference is what takes the colour.
02 · THE WAX WINDOW
Beeswax melts between 62 and 65 °C. Above 85 °C it darkens and loses its scent, and near 100 the water it carries makes it foam over.
The comfortable margin is between 65 and 80 °C, and knowing which of those you are at is what this tool does.
03 · HOW IT SITS
It clips to the melter and drops until the stem is inside the liquid wax. The dial reads from outside.
Cold wax comes off by warming the stem, never with a blade.
