Zipped mesh bag for washing a beekeeping veil or ring hat without the ring losing its shape or the mesh catching on the rest of the load.

A veil is not washed for the stain: it is washed for the smell. Sting venom leaves alarm pheromone in the fabric, and that puts the bees on their guard before you have opened anything.

01 · WHAT IT PREVENTS

The ring never touches the drum

What wrecks a veil in a washing machine is not the water: it is the spin cycle knocking it against the drum and the snags on other people's zips and hook-and-loop. The mesh lets water and detergent through and keeps the ring and the veil clear of all that.

02 · HOW TO WASH IT

Gentle cycle, 30 °C and no softener

Before it goes in, close every hook-and-loop fastening: left open, they are the sandpaper that shreds the tulle. Short gentle programme, up to 30 °C, and do not pack the drum.

No fabric softener and no bleach: they leave residue and perfume, and out at the hives smell is not a cosmetic matter. Dry in the shade, no tumble dryer and no iron anywhere near the veil.

03 · WHAT WATER WILL NOT LIFT

Propolis does not come out with detergent

Propolis marks do not wash out: the garment goes in the freezer and the marks are cracked off cold, or wetted with alcohol first. Hot water only sets the colour.

04 · BEFORE YOU BUY

It extends the life of a veil; it does not repair torn mesh or a ring that has already given way.
