The shape creates space between the face and the mesh and widens the lateral field of vision. It can also convert a compatible ultra-ventilated garment from a fencing-style veil to a round veil when both use exactly the same zip.

📐 Check the zip before buying

Compare the travel, length, direction, size of the teeth and stops with the original veil. Just because two garments are described as ultra-ventilated doesn't mean their zips are interchangeable.
