01 · THE VEIL IS THE WEAR PART

And the helmet is not

The mesh snags, tears and gradually clouds over with dust and propolis. The helmet lasts season after season.

Buying the veil on its own is the logical repair: you change the part that failed and carry on with the same helmet. It has a flexible elastic at the top, which is what draws it onto the helmet and completes it.

02 · THE BRIM DOES THE WORK

What keeps the mesh off your face

In this system, what holds the mesh away from your face is not the veil: it is the brim of the helmet. The fabric hangs from the rim and the brim holds it open.

Hence what to watch: a helmet with a sagging brim lets the mesh come closer, and mesh against your nose does not protect the same however new the veil is.

03 · WASH IT

A clouded veil is a worse veil

Wash it by hand, cold, and dry it in the shade. It is not cosmetic: a veil you cannot see through makes you bring your face closer and move worse between hives.

It is one size, made for the colonial helmet. If yours is a different type, check the rim before ordering.
