One-size round beekeeping veil, with rigid aluminium mesh, a white fabric skirt and drawstring fastening. The hoop holds the mesh in place around the head and provides a more stable barrier than unstructured fabric when there is wind or movement during inspection.
👁️ Rigid structure, with a trade-off
The rigid mesh helps maintain a distance between the bees and the face, but its weave may offer less clarity than a fine mesh. Before heading to the apiary, check your field of vision in side light, whilst looking down and if you wear glasses. Actual visibility also depends on keeping the screen clean and free from distortion.
🧵 One size does not mean a perfect fit
Spread the skirt over a closed garment and adjust the drawstrings without leaving any gaps at the neck or shoulders. Move your head, bend down and check that the mesh does not touch the skin. Replace or repair the veil if there are any tears, open seams or flattened areas.
