01 · WHY THE RING
A mesh that does not come near the face
A mesh does not stop the sting; the air between mesh and skin does. Tulle veils give way in wind and when you bend, and that is where the bee gets through. The rigid ring goes right round the head and keeps that chamber in any posture; that is why it is worn with thick clothes and no suit, which is what reviews appreciate most.
02 · WHAT YOU SEE
The weave is coarse: check your field of view
The weave is coarser than tulle: straight ahead you see well, but it takes sharpness away when hunting eggs at the bottom of the cell, as a French review notes. With side light and a clean mesh you work fine; for looking at eggs all day, a fine black mesh is better. The round shape sees to the sides without turning your head.
03 · HOW TO WEAR IT
Tied to the suit, no zip
No zip and no shirt: the skirt goes outside the closed jacket or suit and the ties fasten it at the neck with no gap. Before going in, turn your head and bend over: the mesh must not touch nose or ears. One size, no measurements published: try it on with your kit on. It is not the replacement veil for zipped suits.
