The veil is the first thing to die on a suit: slack mesh, toothless slider, bent brim. Change the veil and the suit carries on.
01 · WHICH GARMENTS
Our cotton suit and jacket with round veil, not all of them
It is the veil of our cotton suit and of our jacket with round veil, joined by a perimeter zip. It is not the one for the ultra-ventilated suit, which has its own spare, nor the one for fencing-veil suits. The zip decides: compare both halves with those of your old veil, teeth, length, start and stops.
02 · WHAT IT IS LIKE
Stiff brim, black mesh and a skirt with zip
Fabric crown with a stiff brim that keeps the black mesh away from the face, and a skirt with the zip that joins it to the collar. Close it to the stop; with a double zip and flap, the lower one first and then the veil’s, or a gap is left at the throat.
03 · BEFORE GOING IN
The test at home
On and closed, turn your head to both sides looking down: the mesh must not touch face or neck, and no light must show at the join. Wash it apart, by hand, without wringing the mesh; a hole is patched with mesh patches; a broken zip means a new veil.
04 · BEFORE YOU BUY
The veil alone is supplied.
