Details of Square veil with elastics

Square beekeeping veil with a synthetic-leather (skay) hat, fibreglass front mesh and a ventilated lower bib. Its structure creates space around the face, while the mesh provides a broad field of view during apiary inspections.

This is a one-size veil secured with elastic straps. As no head circumference or face-clearance measurements are published, test the fit over your beekeeping clothing before working with bees.

01 · CHECK THE ACTUAL FIT

The mesh must stay clear of the nose, lips and neck

Centre the hat, lower the bib and secure the elastics without leaving open folds. Turn your head, look down and simulate bending over: the mesh must remain away from the skin and the lower edge must not ride up. If your face touches the mesh or an opening remains, the fit is unsuitable.

02 · PART OF YOUR KIT

Overlap it with a fully closed garment

The veil covers the head and face, but does not replace a beekeeping jacket or suit. Wear it over a closed garment with suitable gloves and footwear, and check the overlap across the shoulders and chest. Keep cords, hair and loose objects contained so they cannot create a gap or snag during the inspection.

03 · VISION AND AIRFLOW

Inspect the mesh before every apiary visit

The square front offers a broad viewing area, and the mesh bib allows air to pass. Before use, look for tears, open seams, deformation and areas of restricted visibility. Damaged mesh or mesh sitting too close to the face no longer provides reliable separation and should be repaired or replaced.

04 · CLEANING AND STORAGE

Preserve the square structure without crushing it

Remove propolis and dirt with gentle manual cleaning. Avoid solvents, high heat and twisting the mesh. Allow the veil to dry completely in a ventilated place, then store it with no weight on top. Before the next use, check that the front has recovered its shape and the elastics still hold tension.

One size does not mean a universal fit

No head circumference or internal-depth measurement is published on this listing. If you need a particular face clearance, or if bulky glasses or previous fit problems are a concern, confirm the dimensions before ordering. One veil is supplied; the display stand shown in the photograph and all other clothing are not included.
