Queen mating nucleus in blue polystyrene (4 mini frames)

This mating nucleus is specially designed to facilitate queen rearing and controlled mating under optimal conditions. Made of high-density expanded polystyrene, it offers excellent thermal and acoustic insulation, essential to maintain colony stability during hot days or sudden weather changes.

During queen rearing, this type of nuc allows you to introduce a queen cell or virgin queen with a small number of nurse bees from a strong colony, and obtain a mated queen after her nuptial flight. Thanks to the small volume and reduced population, you minimize the number of bees needed and maximize queen rotation throughout the season.

Once mated, the queen can be caged and marked, or the nucleus can be reused as a “nurse colony” for new queen cells if kept fed and populated.
