The Lyson® Miniplus Premium is built for exactly that step, with a body in Dadant Blatt ½ (half-super) format, 160 mm, and modular frames that drop straight into your production hives.

🔄 Modular frames: from nucleus to Dadant super without breaking the brood

The modular frames pair up two-by-two to make a full Dadant Blatt half-super frame of 160 mm. You move brood, pollen and stores up to the production hive without dismantling the nest or taking the bees out of their format: the transfer is clean and quick — exactly what counts in a queen rotation or a selection line.

➗ Two colonies in a single body

A dividing board splits the body into two independent colonies, each with its own entrance, landing area and feeder. You double your mating capacity or keep reserve queens on hand without taking up more space or buying more kit — in peak season, that’s time and money.

🌡️ High-density polystyrene: steady temperature in a small volume

A small nucleus has little thermal margin. High-density polystyrene insulates far better than thin timber: it protects the colony from winter cold and summer heat spikes and cuts the drain on stores. The gable (four-way) roof sheds rain and stacks neatly —handy when you run dozens of nucs— and is factory-painted blue to weather well and spot at a glance.
