Building block set from the Lyson For Kids series: 562 ABS plastic pieces to build a large-format queen bee, with translucent wings, articulated legs and a honeycomb panel on the abdomen, and two small bees to go with her. It is the big set of the series, for children from 6 who already enjoy a long build; it has small parts and is not for under-3s.
The queen does not rule the hive, she lays: three figures are the excuse to tell who lays, who forages and who tends the brood while 562 pieces click together.
01 · WHAT IS BUILT
A big queen and two small bees
The main figure is the queen, large, with transparent wings imitating the venation, articulated legs, a banded abdomen and a side with hexagonal cells; the two small bees complete the scene. Built, the queen stands on her own and holds on a shelf without falling apart, so she serves as an ornament in the bedroom or the apiary office when play is over.
02 · WHO IT IS FOR
From 6, with patience; not for under-3s
Five hundred and sixty-two pieces mean several building sessions with step-by-step instructions: for children from 6 who have done medium sets and want a long one, and for adults who want it too. Like any block set it has small parts: not for children under 3. The ABS stands up to use and the fit between pieces is firm.
03 · THE SERIES
Three sets that complete each other
It is the largest of the three sets in the Lyson For Kids collection and compatible with the rest: the bee on sunflowers, 85 pieces (3067), to start in one sitting, and the realistic bee, 204 (3069). To go with the build and the biology, the children’s bee book (1595) and the bee anatomy figure (1269).
