Original LYSON two-leaf hinge for the acrylic lids of their CLASSIC, MINIMA and 720–900 mm BASIC extractors.
Most extractors take four, two per half lid, and the Ø1000 and Ø1200 mm CLASSIC take eight. Count the ones on your lid before ordering: they are sold singly.
01 · COMPATIBILITY
Check the hinge before the model
This is the two-leaf hinge: one leaf screws to the top bar and the other to the lid. If yours looks like this, it is the one. It is fitted to the CLASSIC, the MINIMA, the 720–900 mm BASIC and the Ø650 cassette BASIC (W223BBF_RL).
The Ø500 and Ø600 BASIC with a universal basket (W2027BB, W2029BB, W2030BB and W224BB) use a different one: a moulded hinge that sits astride the top bar, and this one does not fit them. Nor does it fit the PREMIUM, which use stainless steel hinges.
02 · ASSEMBLY
A sandwich, and don't overtighten
The hinge goes on the outside and the two inner plates inside: the screws pass through the acrylic and sandwich it, spreading the load across the whole plate instead of concentrating it at the hole.
The care that saves the lid: acrylic cracks if you overtighten. Tighten until the part is firm, and stop there. A star crack around the screw cannot be repaired, and the lid costs many times what the hinge does.
