01 · ONLY SM3 EKO MOTORS FROM 2025

The extractor's name is no use for checking

It fits the SAF SM3 EKO motor, the one carried by the Regata, Ritmo, Racing, Kadett, Fuego, Ibiza and Málaga extractors built by Lyson from 2025 onwards. It is not compatible with earlier SAF motors.

And there lies the trap: those trade names have been in the catalogue for years with different motors. The reliable check is not the extractor model but the label on the motor itself. If it does not say SM3 EKO, this box is not the one.

02 · THE E-STOP IS NOT THE INTERLOCK

Two different safeties, and neither replaces the other

The emergency stop mushroom is the operator's stop: you hit it and the machine cuts out, whatever the lid is doing. The lid detector is something else — a microswitch that stops it starting with the lid raised — and it sits on the frame, not on the control box.

A properly built extractor has both. And neither of them brakes the drum: they cut the motor's supply, but a loaded basket keeps turning on its own momentum for a good while.

03 · 230 V OUTSIDE, 30 V INSIDE

The panel works at low voltage

The input is mains, 230 V single phase, and the box transforms it internally to 30 V to feed the motor. What you handle at the panel is therefore not mains voltage.

It is a direct-fit spare: it replaces the previous box and the supply cable goes to the motor just as on the original. As with any electrical work, do it with the machine unplugged.
