Details of Cordura cover for honey extractors with top controller

Cordura cover for honey extractors with a top-mounted controller, in two diameters: Ø600 and Ø900 mm.

The diameter that counts is the drum's. Measure it before choosing a size, because there is nothing between the two.

01 · MEASURE THE DRUM, NOT THE FRAME

Ø600 or Ø900, no sizes in between

Measure the drum diameter, not the base or the height. If your extractor is Ø800, the one for you is the Ø900: loose, but it covers. The Ø600 will not go on.

It is made for extractors with the controller on top, the sort with the box above the lid. If yours has it on a side panel, check the cover sits properly first.

02 · COVERING IT WET IS WORSE

The cover does not dry, it traps

The mistake that costs an extractor is covering it while still damp: under waterproof fabric the moisture has nowhere to go, condenses against the stainless and works all winter.

The rule: wash, dry it completely, then cover. If you have rinsed the drum, leave it open for a day first.

03 · WHAT IT PROTECTS FROM

Dust, scuffs and splashes

Cordura is the fabric of field packs: it takes abrasion and does not fray when it snags. Against dust, splashes and scratches in a garage or a shed it does its whole job, and the motor starts clean next season.

What it does not do is control the climate: in a damp room it will not prevent corrosion. That is fixed by ventilating, not by a sheet.

04 · BEFORE YOU BUY

Measure the drum diameter and check that your extractor's controller sits on top.
