STEPS TO MAKE YOUR OWN CANDLES
1. Mould preparation
If you are going to prepare candles with a complicated shape, you will have to spray them inside with silicone spray, as it will be easier to unmold the candle once it is finished. Then cut the appropriate length of wick (it should be longer than the height of the mould) and place it in the centre of the mould so that it is suspended in the centre; must be tense. The wick must be suspended through the mould from top to bottom. For this, you can help yourself, for example, with a toothpick in the upper part in such a way that it is positioned in the centre. The next step is to put rubber bands around the mould.
2. Pour the wax into the mould
Dissolve the wax in a bowl, pot or similar (we recommend using our Melter Kit). The liquid wax must have a temperature of 65-70°C: beeswax melts at 61-65°C, and below that it is not fully molten. Pour the wax slowly so that it reaches all the holes. The setting time of the wax depends on the size of the silicone mould.
3. Take out the candle from the mould
When the wax is curdled, pull the elastics, open the mould and carefully remove the candle. Then remove the toothpick and cut the wick at the base, leaving about 1cm at the top of the candle.
In the last step, cut the bottom of the candle with a knife so that the end of the wick can be soaked in warm wax.
