01 · 100 GRAMS DO ADD UP

The prism takes that and a little more

The body is a prism 3.5 cm on a side and 9.5 tall: 116 cm³, giving a ceiling in wax of 112 g. The 100 g quoted fit with margin.

That gives a round 10 candles per kilo, convenient for planning. Even so, weigh the first: the second top-up moves the number.

02 · THE WICK FOR 3.5 CM

3×10, and check the pool

For this thickness the recommended wick is 3×10: beeswax melts higher than paraffin and asks for more wick at the same section. Too short and the flame digs a well and the candle drowns.

The check is simple and done on the first one: if after a while burning the pool of molten wax does not reach the edge, the wick is short for that candle.

03 · POUR AND TOP UP

70-75 °C and a second pass

Pour at 70-75 °C. At 62-65, the melting threshold, the wax is already thick and the edges of the prism come out rounded instead of square — the opposite of what a geometric candle is for.

And it shrinks as it cools: a dip forms around the wick, topped up once the surface has taken. Turn it out cold.

04 · BEFORE YOU BUY

Reckon on 100 g of wax per candle and a second top-up. And a 3×10 wick for the 3.5 cm side.
