Fresh royal jelly is among the highest-value bee products per gram — and one of the hardest to dose consistently by hand. High viscosity, temperature sensitivity and small containers mean every gram over or under directly affects margins and legal weight labelling. The Royal Extension Set turns the Honeyaid® into a precision doser for these products: it adds a 5-litre conical stainless steel funnel with lid that gravity-feeds into a Gear Pump Head S — the smaller gear head, specifically designed for the 10–100 g filling range. Same drive unit, tool adapted to the product.
Unlike the Propolis kit, which uses a peristaltic pump to handle alcohol, royal jelly works with a small-format gear pump head (S): royal jelly is viscous but not aggressive to materials, and positive displacement gears are the most accurate principle for dosing thick pastes and creams in small gram ranges. Maximum flow is 500 ml/min with a maximum deviation of 1% per dose — enough to meet weight labelling requirements for 10, 20, 50 or 100 g jars without manual correction. The working temperature range is 2–95 °C, though fresh royal jelly should always be handled cold to preserve its biological properties.
The 5-litre stainless steel conical funnel with lid mounts above the pump head and feeds the product by gravity directly into the gears. The conical geometry promotes complete emptying without product left on the walls — important both for hygiene and for the cost of the material. The lid limits air exposure during the filling session. The full assembly has a footprint of 350 × 350 mm, fits onto the same Honeyaid® work platform and requires no modifications to the column or machine frame.
Filling with this kit is triggered via the included foot switch — rather than the U-bolt frame switch used with the basic machine. The reason is practical: dosing into 10–100 g jars requires careful container positioning, and having both hands free throughout each fill cycle makes a real difference in speed and spillage. Optionally, a jar presence sensor can be added for use with the Honeyaid® rotary table, automating the cycle when production volumes justify it.
