Double-outlet lever tap for honey ripeners with 1½″ thread. Fills two jars simultaneously for genuinely faster bottling, with an O-ring seal that closes clean and drip-free. The lever action requires far less effort than a standard gate valve — a real difference over a long bottling session.
Gate with two outlets and a single lever for settling tanks with a 1 ½″ (40/49) thread, food-grade plastic body and stainless steel spouts.
It fills two jars with one movement, and anybody who has bottled a hundred kilos with a guillotine gate knows exactly where the gain is.
01 · THE TWO OUTLETS
With two spouts filling at once you cut the number of times you stop to reposition a jar, and that dead time is half of a hand-bottling session. Line up both spouts before you open and the two jars come up to the same level without you watching them. The difference starts to tell from a few dozen kilos on: to fill four jars it is not worth changing gate.
02 · THE LEVER
A guillotine is worked by pushing and, three hundred times over, you feel it in the wrist. The top lever opens and closes with a short movement and far less force, which is what carries you through a whole afternoon of bottling. Open it and close it fully: leaving it half way is what leaves the thread that drips between one jar and the next.
03 · THE SEAL
The seal is made by an O-ring, and whether the spout is left clean depends on its condition. Rinse hot at the end of the batch and do not leave honey crystallising on the seat: a crystal on the O-ring is what starts weeping halfway through the following season. Check it at the start of the season and replace it once it has lost its shape.
04 · THE CONNECTION
It goes on settling tanks with a 1 ½″ (40/49) threaded outlet, the most widespread size on medium tanks. Before ordering, check the thread on your tank and the room left inside to tighten. If your outlet is 1″ or 2″, this is not the calibre.
05 · BEFORE YOU BUY
The body is food-grade plastic: it is tightened by hand, takes no spanner, and no tank you are going to heat beyond what the material stands.
