Details of Nylon Honey Gate 4cm Quarti® original
Quarti guillotine gate in food-grade nylon, 40/49 connection of 1 ½″, with a bolt-through fitting for vessels with no threaded boss. Stainless screws and a silicone gasket included.
This is the one that solves the tank with no fitting prepared for a gate. Where a screw-in gate finds nothing to grip, this one bolts on.
01 · THE BOLT-THROUGH FITTING
It screws to the wall, it does not thread into a boss
The usual gates need the vessel to come with its own thread. This one mounts differently: the fitting passes through the wall and is held by screws that clamp the gasket against the steel. That is how you create a draw-off point on a tank or a drum that was never prepared to take a gate, with no welding and no unions.
02 · BEFORE YOU DRILL
Measure the bore, the wall thickness and the height
The connection is 40/49, that is 1 ½″, and the hole has to take the larger number. Check the thickness of the wall and how much of the body sits inside, and place the gate as low as you can without scraping the bottom: a few centimetres too high are kilos of honey you then have to get out some other way.
03 · WHAT COMES WITH IT
Food-grade nylon, silicone gasket and stainless screws
The body is nylon declared for food use and it arrives with its silicone gasket and its stainless screws: no separate trip to the hardware shop. Tighten crosswise and firmly by hand, without crushing the gasket, and test with water above the level of the gate before you fill with honey.
04 · BEFORE YOU BUY
It is a permanent fitting: the hole stays in the tank. Choose the position carefully before you drill.
