01 · WHAT IT IS AND IS NOT

A paper consumable for the device

Worth stating plainly from the start, because the product name misleads: what you are buying is paper. These are the strips the Varrojet consumes in use, and they run out like any other consumable. They contain no liquid, no active ingredient and no veterinary medicine of any kind. And a clarification we have also been asked for: the strip belongs to the device, not to the hive — there is no Layens version and a Langstroth version, because the size is set by the Varrojet.

02 · WHAT WE ARE MOST ASKED

And why we cannot answer it

The question keeps coming: what liquid to soak the strips in. We cannot tell you, and it is not evasion — the correct answer is not a liquid at all. Any treatment against varroa has to be carried out with an authorised veterinary medicine and in accordance with its data sheet, and those medicines come with their own format and their own route of application: they are not decanted onto another carrier or improvised. The same goes for the other regular question, how long to leave the strips inside: the timings are set by the data sheet of the medicine used, not by the paper. If what you need is to decide this season's treatment, that conversation is with your vet or your animal health association, not with a product page.

In Spain and in the European Union, varroa treatment and any other veterinary application in the hive may only be carried out with authorised veterinary medicines and in accordance with their data sheet. The use of unauthorised products, home preparations or pseudo-medicines is prohibited under animal health and veterinary medicines legislation, and may lead to administrative penalties and, where applicable, criminal liability. This product is sold solely as a carrier; its use is the buyer's responsibility.

03 · BEFORE YOU BUY

The price is for the pack of 30 strips, not per unit. Store them somewhere dry and protected from damp: damp paper behaves erratically and is the commonest reason one strip does not perform like the last.
