Plastic section for honey comb NICOT

When you open the hive during orange blossom season and see a perfectly capped section, white as virgin wax, you know you’ve done it right. These NICOT food-grade plastic sections are designed precisely for that: to obtain intact, clean combs ready for the consumer, without extraction, filtration, or processing.

The need arose from a simple reality: more and more consumers appreciate honeycomb as it comes straight from the hive. No heating, no tampering. Just wax and honey. For beekeepers, offering this naturally is a true selling point.

These sections are made in France by NICOT, using high-quality food-grade plastic. They are assembled in seconds: just snap the four sides together and insert a sheet of beeswax foundation. Then, place them into unwired wooden frames, ideally medium supers.

Once inside the hive, the bees do the work: building, filling, and capping. At harvest, simply remove the frame, detach the sections, and place them in transparent storage boxes (sold separately), ideal to preserve freshness and avoid leakage.

Secure fitting is possible with metal clips or hooks (available separately), which attach the plastic to the wooden frame at the top or sides.

Available formats:

• Large: 130 × 105 × 35 mm – Up to 4 sections per medium frame.

• Small: 84 × 65 × 35 mm – Up to 10 sections per medium frame.

Compatible with: unwired medium frames – suitable for Dadant Blatt, Langstroth or Layens (with adapted frames).

Storage tip: once extracted, place the comb in our transparent food-grade plastic boxes (sold separately) to preserve aroma and prevent dripping.
