Queen rearing: three parts with different roles

In the NICOT system, the CNE1 base fixes to the cell bar; the CNE2 holder fits onto it and carries the CNE3 cup. This lets you move the cup without removing the fixed base. The queen-rearing set brings system components together, while separate parts let you expand or replenish an existing kit.

Cupularve changes how you obtain larvae: the queen lays in a panel with removable cups, which can be transferred without grafting. You still need a cell-building colony with enough nurse bees and a schedule for queen-cell development. The CNE5 protective cage and CNE4 incubator cage serve different purposes.

One centimetre changes the fit of a queen excluder

The Langstroth/Dadant US excluder measures 425 × 510 mm. The ten-frame Dadant Blatt version is 425 × 500 mm; a 500 × 500 mm version is also available for twelve-frame hives. The shared NICOT name does not make them interchangeable.

The range also includes hive bodies, floors, entrances, supers and feeders. When replacing a part, identify the existing system. A feeder or roof must fit the outside of the box: the internal frame size alone does not confirm that fit.
