What moves a super on the road is not the braking: it is the rolling, and all it takes is a centimetre of slide.
NICOT® centring pegs in HDPE so that supers and feeders do not shift on the brood box. Supplied in packs of 40.
01 · WHAT THEY DO
A 7 mm stop
They slot into the grooves of the box and leave a 7 mm lip that acts as a guide: the super drops into place and can no longer slide sideways, with or without a queen excluder.
Two per box is enough for storage; for migratory work, four. A pack of 40 covers twenty boxes — ten hives with body and super.
02 · FITTING AND REMOVING
Both take seconds
They push into the groove by hand and seat with a tap of a mallet. For a permanent fix they carry a central hole for a Ø 3 × 12 mm screw, sold separately, and they come out again by levering with a screwdriver.
03 · THE MATERIAL
HDPE, not just any plastic
They are recyclable high-density polyethylene: it takes sun, frost and mallet blows without going brittle, which is where improvised stops fail. They are made for the NICOT® plastic system, which is the one with the grooves they slot into.
04 · BEFORE YOU BUY
An apiary consumable, in a large pack:
