Spare foot for Anel’s LockFit floor: the 16.4 × 3 × 4.3 cm polyethylene piece that snaps onto the rim of the base and lifts it off the ground just enough so that soil, stones and mud do not get into the mesh or the holes. Each floor takes four; this is the single spare, or to fit a base (3241) bought without them. 190 g.
Set flat on the ground, the ventilated floor swallows whatever is under it; the four feet lift it a finger’s width, which is what keeps the openings clear.
01 · WHAT IT DOES
Lift the base off the ground, not raise the hive
It snaps onto the points around the rim of the LockFit floor, no tools, and stays put: the four feet keep the ventilated mesh and the fixing holes clear of soil and grit when the floor goes straight on the ground. What they do not do is raise the hive to working height or lift it off wet ground: for that go a pallet, some bricks or a stand, with the feet on top. One breaks now and then in migration, loading and unloading: hence the single spare.
02 · WHAT IT GOES WITH
The LockFit floor, and nothing else
It is the foot of Anel’s Langstroth LockFit floor, of the full set (3101) and of the bare base (3241), which is sold without feet; with the tray (3243) and the entrance door (3244) it is one of the system’s four spare parts. Virgin BPA-free polyethylene. It does not fit other floors.
