Plastic Entrance Gate for NICOT Nuc bottoms

This entrance gate is specifically designed for 6-frame nucs using the NICOT plastic base (reference FONDD6VTOT). It’s a simple yet essential accessory for managing the hive entrance throughout the season—whether you need to improve ventilation, secure the nuc during transport, or reduce airflow in colder months.

The gate is reversible, offering two positions: one side has a free access opening of 8.5 mm for normal bee traffic, while the other side provides a ventilated closure that prevents bees from exiting but still allows air exchange—ideal for transhumance or winter use.

Installation is tool-free: simply clip it into the side grooves of the NICOT base. Once fitted, it stays securely in place thanks to its precise 3 mm thickness, with no gaps or risk of loss. To remove it, just lift one side and slide it out sideways.

Made of recyclable plastic, this entrance gate is highly resistant to weather, UV exposure, and deformation over time. It requires no maintenance and contains no paint or solvents, making it completely safe for bees.

• In winter or with weak nucs, to limit airflow and reduce thermal stress.
• During transhumance, use the closed ventilated side to keep bees safely inside during transport.
