Details of Plastic Entrance Gate for NICOT Nuc bottoms
Shutting a nuc to move it is easy. Shutting it without suffocating it, less so.
Reversible plastic entrance block for NICOT® six-frame nucleus floors, 271 × 38 mm. One face opens the way; the other shuts it while still letting air through.
01 · THE TWO FACES
Open at 8.5 mm, or shut with ventilation
One way round it leaves a clear 8.5 mm opening for normal traffic. Turned over, it closes the way but keeps ventilating — and that is the difference from any old plug: you can load the nuc into the van without bees getting out and without leaving them airless.
That same shut face works in cold weather to cut the airflow into a weak nucleus without closing off its breathing. And the open one, down to 8.5 mm, leaves less front for a handful of guards to cover.
02 · FITTING
It slides in and stays
It slides into the side grooves of the NICOT floor and holds by its own 3 mm thickness, with no play and no tools. To take it out, release one side and it comes away.
It is injected plastic with no paint and no solvents, so it takes sun, cold and damp without warping and without adding anything to the hive. French-made, genuine NICOTPLAST.
03 · BEFORE YOU BUY
