Details of Quarti® entrance for poly nucs
Quarti P35 metal entrance for six-frame polystyrene nucleus hives. It consists of a galvanised base and a sliding plate offering three positions: open, closed and reduced against robbing. This is the complete two-part assembly; fixing screws are not included.
🔄 One position for each stage of nucleus management
Leave the entrance open when the colony is active and able to defend it; use the partly open position for small nucleus colonies or when robbing is a risk. The closed position can immobilise the exit during transport or a specific operation, but it does not replace the ventilation required when moving bees.
🔧 Flat installation and free-moving slide
Offer it up to the recess in the nucleus hive, align the opening and secure the base without distorting the metal. Quarti specifies 2.5 × 18 mm screws for its compatible nucleus hives. After installation, move through all three positions and check periodically that wax, propolis or impacts have not obstructed the slide.
