30 g OF HONEY (≈ 21 ml) | 42 × 42 mm DIAMETER AND HEIGHT |
NICOT food-grade polypropylene tasting cup, footed, with a faceted body and lid included, for offering honey to taste at fairs and tastings or selling single portions.
The 30 g is a weight of honey: in volume that is about 21 ml.
01 · 30 G IS NOT 30 ML
It is the commonest confusion with any honey container, so let us clear it: capacity is given in grams of honey, not millilitres. Since honey weighs around 42 % more than water, those 30 g take up roughly 21 ml. That is why a cup marked «30 g» looks smaller than a 30 ml pot: nobody is misleading anyone, the number simply measures something else. At 42 mm across and 42 mm tall with the foot, the arithmetic fits — and if your mental reference is volume, count on 21 ml.
02 · THE LID IS WHAT MAKES IT USEFUL
Without a lid, a tasting cup forces you to fill on site, with the honey open to the air and a spill risk at every move. With one, the work is done before the event: you fill the batch calmly, close them, carry them in a box and arrive with the samples ready. That changes the logistics of a fair completely — and it also lets you prepare several different honeys and identify them without the aromas mixing. The foot and the faceted body are not only decorative: they lift the sample and let the honey be seen against the light, which is half of a tasting.
03 · BEFORE YOU BUY
Worth being clear about before setting up the stall. Offering a taste at a tasting is one thing; selling the single portion is another — the moment money changes hands it stops being a sample and becomes a honey container placed on the market, with the same labelling obligations as a jar. It is not a formality: it is what will be looked at. If your plan is to sell the cup filled, sort the labelling before ordering a thousand. And on the practical side: it is polypropylene, not glass — it does not break when dropped and weighs little, which is what lets you take two hundred to an event.
