DIAMETERS

100

UNITS PER PACK

Clear shrink band that tightens onto the neck of the container with heat and shows at a glance whether anyone has opened it. Nine diameters, 43 to 82 mm.

It is supplied as a flat sleeve: you slide it over the neck and heat draws it tight in a couple of seconds.

01 · CHOOSE THE DIAMETER

The band's number is your lid's number

There are nine sizes — 43, 48, 53, 58, 63, 66, 70, 77 and 82 mm — and they are chosen by the outer diameter of the lid, not by the capacity of the container. If your lid is a TO 77 twist-off, your band is the 77; if it is TO 66, the 66. When you do not know the reference, measure the lid with a ruler and take that number. And it does not depend on what you are packing: it works the same on a honey jar, an oil bottle or a preserve — the only thing the band looks at is the lid in front of it.

02 · HOW IT GOES ON

A couple of seconds of heat, spread evenly

Place the sleeve around the neck, covering the join between lid and container, and apply heat with a heat gun — our reference BR-32565 — or a high-power hairdryer. As soon as the hot air touches it, it contracts and grips. Two things separate a clean finish from a wrinkled one: turning the container while you heat it, so the heat reaches the whole circumference evenly, and not overdoing it — too much heat distorts the band and can end up marking the label or the container itself.

03 · WHAT IT PROTECTS AND WHAT IT DOES NOT

The band proves, it does not seal

Worth being clear about, because the two get confused: what closes the jar is the lid's sealing compound, which pulls a vacuum as the contents cool. The band adds no tightness and replaces none of that — what it adds is evidence of opening: if it arrives broken or missing, the customer sees it before opening. It is what is expected of packaged product that goes on sale, and often what a buyer reselling your honey will ask for. A jar with a band and a badly closed lid is still a badly closed jar.

04 · BEFORE YOU BUY

They are sold in packs of 100 per diameter. For continuous packing there are full boxes, and the quantity per box changes with the size — the smaller the diameter, the more units: 43 mm comes in 8,000 and 82 mm in 3,000. If you are going to need a full box, ask us about the one for your diameter. It is clear, so it hides neither the label nor the colour of the honey — the jar still shows through in full.

✓ FITSAny twist-off lid from 43 to 82 mm — honey, oil, preserves.
✕ DOES NOT SEAL THE JARNo tightness: the seal is made by the lid's compound.
⚠ HEAT REQUIREDYou need a heat gun or a powerful hairdryer: it does not go on cold.

Products arrived quickly - Ireland. And do exactly what is says, will be ordering more of these and more of my beekeeping equipment from here. Jsut wished they did commercial sized western red cedar hives and parts.
