On the move, what separates a quiet trip from a disaster is the few centimetres a super can slide across the box below.
A sheet of 32 high-density polyethylene clips for NICOT® hives. They lock floor, brood box and supers to each other with no ironmongery, no screws and no straps.
01 · HOW THEY GRIP
A double hook in a moulded slot
Each clip has two opposing hooks: one bites the part below and the other the part above, inside the slots the NICOT boxes carry from the mould. They push in by hand — no tool — and stay locked; to release them, lever with the hive tool.
They come joined in a sheet, just as they leave the mould: you snap them off one at a time as you need them. The material is HDPE, which takes sun and frost without turning brittle and does not corrode the way metal fittings do.
02 · NICOT PARTS ONLY
The slot is the condition
The whole system depends on that slot. A clip does not hold on a smooth surface: a wooden box has nowhere to hook it, and neither do plastic boxes from another maker with a different profile. If your hive pairs a NICOT floor with a wooden brood box, that particular joint has to be solved with a strap.
