190 ml CAPACITY | 250 g OF HONEY |
Ø 71 × 91 MILLIMETRES | PP POLYPROPYLENE, LID INCLUDED |
NICOT jar in transparent polypropylene with its shouldered lid included, 190 ml for 250 g of honey. It measures Ø 71 × 91 mm: the small one of the family, the sample, the favour and the tasting.
The small format is not a whim: it is the one given away and the one tasted, and that is why it sells more than it looks.
01 · WHAT THE SMALL ONE IS FOR
Two hundred and fifty grams is the amount you try without committing. It works as a commercial sample for a shop or a restaurant that has not bought from you yet, as a wedding or corporate favour, and as a tasting format when you want to show three honeys from the same season side by side. In hospitality it is also the breakfast portion that does not get left half eaten. And since the body is transparent, the colour of each honey does the label’s work.
02 · THE CAPACITY
Honey weighs around 1.4 kg per litre: 250 g takes about 180 ml, not 250. The 190 ml of this jar is that quarter kilo plus just the air to close it without welling over. It is the arithmetic that saves you from comparing containers by volume and being disappointed at filling time. The other two in the family are just as tightly cut: 370 ml for half a kilo and 750 ml for the kilo.
03 · MATERIAL AND CLOSURE
NICOT makes it in France in injected polypropylene approved for food contact, recyclable and, according to the maker, free of bisphenol A and phthalates; it arrives clean and is filled without washing. The white lid is included and presses onto the shoulder, it is not a screw cap. What it does not carry is a tamper-evident tab: that is another range from the maker, the one to order if your sale requires an opening witness.
04 · HOW TO STORE IT
Like the rest of the family, it is used and stored standing up: a press-on lid is not leak-proof on its side. In the small format this matters more than it seems, because this is the one that travels loose — in a gift basket, in the boot on the way to a fair, on a sample round — and that is where it ends up lying down. Put them in a box that keeps them vertical and they arrive as they left.
