A food-grade plastic tray, 355 mm long — the drawer where the pollen the bees drop on their way through the grid ends up.
It works with NICOT® floors and with timber pollen traps, and its walls are slotted.
01 · COMPATIBILITY
In the NICOT® floor system the collection is built from parts: the ventilated floor, the tunnel that forces the bee in the right way, the grid that knocks the loads off her pollen baskets, and this tray, which catches them. It is the only part you pull out and put back on every visit, and the one that cracks first if you force it. If your trap is timber it fits just the same: what matters is the drawer opening, not the brand.
02 · VENTILATION
The slots on both walls are narrow and vertical: they let air through and not the pollen, so the load loses moisture instead of sweating in a closed drawer. That buys margin, not permission. Fresh pollen comes in wet, and in the heat it ferments within hours: daily collection is still the rule, and what you collect goes to the freezer or the drier as soon as possible. And always keep it in the shade: a ventilated tray in August sun does not ventilate, it cooks.
03 · BEFORE YOU BUY
If your trap is not a NICOT®, the drawer opening is what decides: the tray measures 90 × 56 × 355 mm. Measure it before ordering.
