Sliding plastic grid, 356 × 65 × 4.5 mm with Ø 5 mm holes, to replace the worn or warped grid on a pollen trap.

Thickness is the dimension that causes most returns. Measure your trap's slot before ordering.

01 · COMPATIBILITY

Height and thickness: two checks, not one

Sliding does not mean one-size-fits-all. To slide through the slot it has to meet both figures at once: 65 mm high and 4.5 mm thick. It is common for the height to match and the grid still not to go in, because the slot is narrower than the plate.

Take out the grid you have and measure it with a calliper. If your trap is a NICOT, check the gap carefully: it is the model we get reports about it not fitting.

02 · BEE PASSAGE

The 5 mm hole is what strips the load

The forager goes through the hole and the pollen pellets come off the corbiculae into the drawer. Ø 5 mm is the compromise: narrow enough to scrape the load, wide enough for the bee to pass without injuring herself. Drones and the queen do not fit, so the trap needs its alternative exit. Replace it when it loses flatness or the holes clog with wax.

This is the bare grid: it does not turn an ordinary entrance into a pollen trap.
