Pollentunnel für Kunststoffboden Nicot®

This pollen tunnel for plastic screened NICOT bottom boards (FONDD10VTOT). It is inserted into the hive entrance and must be combined with the tray (TIRPOLD10).

How does the pollen tunnel work?

Upon entering the hive, the bees pass under the tunnel, then forcefully through the pollen grating. They will then lose their pollen balls before and after passing through the holes. The pollen balls will pass through the ventilation holes at the bottom and collect in the bottom drawer.

The perforated part is designed to perfectly fit the length of our pollen drawer tray: no crop loss. The grid holes have a diameter of 5.1mm.

The pollen tunnel is equipped at the ends with two special escapes for drones: just uncover one of the holes (Ø9 mm) located at the ends of the grid.

Mounting

It is only necessary to place the tunnel on top of the total ventilation base and place the pollen catcher tray (ref. TIRPOLD10) on the base. To remove it, it is done well with one or two beekeeper spatulas. It is very easy to remove and install, allowing you to stop or resume pollen collection whenever you want.
