Details of Food-grade plastic inner bag for pollen cartons
Fresh pollen comes in from the field with nearly a third of its weight in water. From then on, everything you do is a race against damp.
Food-grade three-layer polyethylene liner bag for 25 kg pollen boxes. About 72 × 95 cm, it goes inside the cardboard box: the box takes the load, the bag is the barrier.
01 · THE FILM
Gauge 500, three layers, and what each part is for
The film is coextruded in three layers of virgin polyethylene — LDPE and LLDPE — at gauge 500, around 125 microns. That thickness is what lets it carry 25 kg of pollen without splitting at a corner.
It carries additives you cannot see but do notice: the antistatic keeps pollen dust off the bag wall and stops the mouth closing on itself as you fill, and the thermal ones let it go in and out of the freezer without turning brittle.
02 · THE CLOSURE
Swan neck, in three moves
Pollen is hygroscopic: dry, it pulls water back out of the air and cakes; fresh, it ferments if oxygen and warmth get in. The closure matters as much as the film.
Leave 10 to 15 cm unfilled. Press gently to drive the air out, twist the mouth into a tight rope, fold it back on itself and secure it with a cable tie or tape. With the cardboard box around it, the whole thing behaves like a small chamber against damp and light.
