Details of Professional Honey Dehumidifier 300kg LYSON

Honey dehumidifier for 300 kg with Ø 620 mm plates on a rotating shaft, forced ventilation of 250 m³/h and a sealed stainless tank.

Neither we nor the maker say what temperature it works at. And with ten or twelve hours of exposure, that is the figure to ask for. The heater is 1,200 W and the fan moves 250 m³/h: the design says it dries by air and surface, not by heat. But how much heat is published nowhere.

01 · THE FIGURE NOBODY PUBLISHES

Ask for it before you sign the order

Neither the original sheet nor the maker's documentation gives the working temperature. On a machine that holds honey for half a day at a stretch, that matters: above 40 °C the HMF rises and the diastase falls, and a whole shift at 45 does not come back.

The design points to it running warm rather than hot: the rotating plates are there to increase the evaporating surface, and the fan to renew the air. That is drying by area and airflow, which is the right way. Even so, we confirm it with the factory before placing the order.

02 · 18 AND 20 %: TWO SEPARATE LINES

One is legal, the other is practical

The legal limit for water in honey is 20 %, with the exceptions of Calluna heather (23 %) and baker's honey from heather (25 %). Above that, it cannot be sold as honey.

The practical line comes earlier: below 18 % fermentation stops being a real risk. Between 18 and 20 you are within the law but at the mercy of the batch's osmophilic yeasts. The maker frames it the same way.

03 · THE OUTSIDE AIR SETS THE FLOOR

And this decides whether it suits you

The machine heats and circulates air, and it cannot dry below equilibrium with that air. In a damp honey house the honey stops where the ambient humidity lets it, however many hours you give it.

That is why the maker sells a condensing unit separately for this model: it takes the water out of the circulating air, and the drying stops depending on the weather outside. On a wet coast, that option is not an extra — it is half the purchase.

04 · 300 KG AT €25.65 A KILO

Buying capacity costs half as much

In our range the 70 kg dehumidifier is €4,115.70, which is €58.80 per kilo of capacity. This one, at 300 kg, works out at €25.65: less than half.

And the sum adds up: 215 litres at the density of honey is about 305 kg, hence the 300 declared. If you do not need a sealed chamber, there is a room dehumidifier kit at €1,318.18, which is another league.

05 · A 6/4 TAP: AN INCH AND A HALF

And it is 1.8 m long

The outlet is a 6/4 butterfly valve, written in quarters of an inch: six quarters is an inch and a half, 40 mm. That is the bore of the small honey-house line, so it links to settling tanks and bottler without an adapter.

And it takes the room it takes: 1,800 × 1,030 × 1,270 mm and 130 kg. Measure it on the floor before you measure it on the order form. Tank, lid and heating tube are 0H18N9 steel, the Polish designation for AISI 304.

06 · BEFORE YOU BUY

Ask the temperature, and see whether you need the condenser.

✓ A GOOD FITHoney from a damp flow above 18 %: sealed chamber, 300 kg a load and 250 m³/h.
⚠ THE CONDENSER IS SEPARATEWithout it, your honey house's humidity sets the floor of what you can dry.
✕ IT DOES NOT PUBLISH ITS WORKING TEMPERATUREWith 10-12 h of exposure that is the figure to ask for. We confirm it with the factory.
