This Dadant Blatt queen rearing frame (47x30 cm) is built for beekeepers who practice genetic selection and controlled queen breeding. Made from pine wood, it strikes a balance between lightness and structural stability, suitable for mating nucs or production hives adapted for rearing.
It includes two smooth, removable bars (separators), each capable of holding up to 15 NICOT cup cell blocks or standard queen cell bars. Compatible with both NICOT and JZ-BZ systems, it offers flexibility regardless of your preferred method or existing equipment.
The bars are spaced to allow bees to build evenly spaced queen cells, which improves larval development and facilitates grafting and handling. This setup helps increase acceptance rates and makes it easier to select queens with desirable traits such as prolific egg-laying, hygienic behavior, or low swarming tendency.
