Honeyaid® — The Original Nassenheider, Reinvented
More than 25 years of proven reliability. Developed and produced by a highly qualified team in Dresden, Germany.
Some machines work. Others are still working twenty years later, when their owners send them back to the manufacturer for a service and they return home to keep going. The Honeyaid® belongs to the second category. What began in the nineties as one uncompromising beekeeper's answer to a specific problem — rubber residues in bottled honey — has become the world reference for semi-automatic filling machines in professional beekeeping, with over 10,000 units sold across more than 100 countries and a reputation built not by marketing, but by seasons.
🔬 The problem nobody had solved — and how the solution was born
In the late 1990s, at a beekeeping trade fair, company founder Stefan Weiland identified something professionals had been tolerating without question: conventional impeller pumps left visible rubber residues in the filled honey. It was not a minor inconvenience. It was a contamination of the final product that no serious beekeeper could afford to ignore. Weiland designed from scratch a filling system based on precision gear pump technology — no rubber parts in contact with honey, no residues, precise dosing and far superior mechanical longevity. The result was presented at Apimondia 1999 in Vancouver, where it received an Honourable Mention for technical innovation. That recognition marked the beginning of systematic series production and the founding of the company.
📈 25 years, 10,000 machines, units from 20 years ago still running
Initially marketed under the Nassenheider® brand as the "Fill up" model, the machine quickly earned a reputation among professionals for three qualities that come up in every market: robustness, efficiency and long-term reliability. Continuous technical refinement over the years has made it the market leader in semi-automatic filling machines for beekeeping. To date, more than 10,000 units have been sold in over 100 countries. The figure that best summarises the quality of the product is not that number — it is the fact that machines still in active use after more than 20 years of continuous operation regularly come back for servicing. That is the most honest quality benchmark there is.
⚠️ On imitations — what users consistently report in practice
Since around 2019, copies of the system have appeared on the market with increasing frequency. Feedback consistently received from users who have tried both is clear: imitations fall noticeably short of the original in the characteristics that matter most in real-world use — suction performance, filling speed and, above all, long-term durability. This is not a question of branding: it is a question of engineering, manufacturing tolerances, material quality and decades of accumulated technical refinement. A machine that fails in its third year of use is not a cheaper option — it is a deferred cost.
🔄 Honeyaid® 2024 — same DNA, international name, continuous improvements
Since 2024 the machine carries the internationally oriented name Honeyaid®. Its essential characteristics remain unchanged: uncompromising build quality paired with a price-to-performance ratio that continues to set the standard in its category. Development work continues without interruption. From 2026, the pump-head pipe bend can be removed tool-free using knurled nuts and a locking flange — a further simplification that eliminates the need for costly and potentially leak-prone auxiliary injection valves common in competing designs. Every improvement responds to what beekeepers actually using the machine propose. That has been the approach since 1999.
